Dear brothers and sisters and friends of GMC,

I only have about 2 months one week left in GMC. I look forward to studying at Sabah Theological Seminary, Kota Kinabalu. By the end of December, I will not be writing to you anymore because a new pastor will take over my place. He or she may be writing to you all.

Do pray that Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference will send a suitable pastor to GMC and the whole church will move to a greater height for Jesus.

During the course of this week, I was involved in quite a few ministries. Praise the Lord for the privilege to be involved in the lives of these students and the congregation. On Wednesday and Thursday mornings, I was involved in the NO Apologies teaching at a school among the 40 indigenous people and few Chinese. I was overwhelmed by the need to teach them about sex. The questions asked on paper really made me feel that our youth generation has been exposed to very unhealthy sex ideas. They have been destroyed by pornography. Many of them had sex before marriage. It was too late for us to organize No Apologies in Form 3. We should organize a more simple version when they are in Form 1.

On Wednesday afternoon, I visited with a church member for a 17 year old teenager at the General Hospital Psychiatrist ward. She is all alone in the ward. She is so pitiful. She has strong strength to stop me from closing the windows. She will tear her own clothes. At night she may shout for no reason. She will strip herself naked. Her parents just cannot help her but they leave her at the hospital. As we sang the spiritual songs, she started to soften. She did not stop me from closing the windows. For a few moments, she even wept! We anointed her with olive and pray to cast the evil spirits out of her. The parents were also there. They appreciated us. We will go back there again to care, love, support, pray and do deliverance again this coming Wednesday. Do pray for us.

On Friday night and Saturday afternoon, I gave baptism and confirmation class. Today, I baptized and confirmed about 30 youths and adults. Praise the Lord! On Saturday morning and night, Sunday afternoon and tonight, I gave pre-marital counseling to 2 couples separately. I really thank God for the great privilege to share my marriage life with them and at the same time, I was able to help them in their struggles. I guide them to strong disciples in marriage!

Dear brothers and sisters and friends of GMC,

Praise the Lord I have the discipline to write to you weekly. These few weeks I am very inspired to write as there are so many good things which involve the hand of God are happening.

Our mission team headed by brother Richard Lin had done the reading bus for the second time at Tudan Methodist Church for the indigenous people yesterday afternoon. There were over 70 children who turned up. This is our second time fortnightly; this is a 3 months project. Then, at night, they did the Apha, as usual, in BM. At the same time, I am told by our GMC mission Chairman, brother Aaron that Piasau Baptist Church is interested to explore with us to do reading bus. They are going to meet next Tuesday over breakfast to discuss the possibility. I share the vision of the reading with Sarawak Indigenous People Committee (SCAC), on Wednesday morning, the District Commission of Evangelism of Bintulu, Brother Patirck Liw is interested to do it. The Sarikei district superintendant, Rev Kwan is also interested. For both the districts, their plan for it is next year. Let us pray that all these 3 possibilities will come true. My burden and vision are to see lots of indigenous people saved and become disciples of Jesus and many of them will become BM pastors and missionaries.

Last Sunday, we launched the Alpha Sunday, immediately after that, on Monday, Sally and team reached out to brother Kah Peng’s mom and she accepted Christ. We now have one “star fish” moved from the sandy beach to the ocean. Let us continue to pray that all these “star fish” will move over by the end of 2011.

Dear brothers and sisters and friends of GMC,

Praise the Lord for a great week. I believe my life has been enriched by what I see and experienced this week. God is causing good things to happen in GMC.

Firstly, the weekend Primary 6 retreat attracted some 26 boys and girls to come. All of them said yes to Jesus. We encourage them to go on to the i-youth or MJYF after this year. Teacher Vivien Lim has done a very good job.

Secondly, I met a 17 old Iban girl who needs help in the psychiatry hospital. I was told that when parents do not give her the attention, her condition turns worse. I learn that when a person does not receive enough love, it literally affects every area of your life. It affects you mentally, physically, psychologically, socially, etc. It challenges me to mobilize a few sisters to help her. Please pray that our love for her will help to heal her a little.

Thirdly, the Alpha weekend was simply too great. The non-threatening approach, seek sensitive approach, genuine caring approach and most important of all, allowing the Holy Spirit to work approach is so simple and practical an approach to do evangelism. I pray that GMC will take this approach far and really win people for Christ. Today, I see at least 200 star fish (which represents 200 persons) which we commit to God in prayer and eventually we need to invite them to come for Alpha. I pray that we will keep doing Alpha and make disciples of all nations.

Dear brothers and sisters of GMC and friends,

Praise the Lord for the past week. It was a very busy week for me. I believe my presence at the GB and BB at SJK Pujut really helped the 57 boys and girls to grow to become disciples of Jesus. I taught them 3 godly characters of initiative, enthusiasm and dependability have helped mould their characters. I believe the games which we played and they bring out the meanings of the characters would reinforce my teachings on the 3 characters.

Today I preached the last sermon on the social concerns on repentance. My text is from Luke 23:26-42. Especially what Jesus said on the cross, “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do” is so inspiring for me. I preach with very strong conviction that God in the person of Jesus is very forgiving towards sinners and therefore, we must willing to repent and accepted. This saying of Jesus has guided my ministry for these many years, it helps me to see sinners as God sees them. So, I give lots of time and space to repent; and I do not give up on people who sin greatly against God. I put it to them that if we sin, we are fighting against God and how can we stand God’s judgment?

Yesterday was also a great day for GMC as it marked the beginning of GMC mission in doing Reading Bus (mobile library), by mobilizing some 60 children at Tudan to read English. I pray that this 3 months fortnightly project follow by Alpha (evangelism tool) will become an inspiration for other Methodist Churches. They will become excited about it also and do it in the future.
