Dear brothers and sisters and friends out there,

Serving God and making disciples are so exciting, when you see people responding to God and lives are transformed as a result of our effort, you just cannot help but keep glorifying God. He has used us to do it. Who are we who can make it happen? We cannot do it if He is not with us.

For this week I am so encouraged to see a few sisters in our church who praying and working on a project to help the poor and needy. Let us pray that the other Methodist churches will agree to provide the used goods for us to set up the Dorcas centre. All the money earned will be used to make disciples of the poor and needy people.

Praise the Lord for we were able to reach out to SMK Suai 25th to 27th June. Sii Ling small group, myself and brother Charles and brother Joseph Tan (Yi En Methodist) went to minister 74 students of the ISCF and Young Catholic Fellowship. We went to motivate them to study Maths, Science and English. Many of them confessed to dislike the subjects but now they promised to study hard in them. They now see the importance of those subjects, especially English. We also teach and preach on sins, salvation, repentance, born again and the Holy Spirit. They really believed in what we taught and many of them repented from anger, hatred, jealousy, laziness, not respecting teachers and parents, etc. Their written testimonies are so touching. Do pray that more and more Methodist churches will do this kind of mission among the borders of outskirt secondary school.

Faithful disciple of Jesus,

Dear brothers and sisters,

Praise the Lord for the Gawai Holidays last week and for this week. I am able to achieve very much for Jesus. For last week, I was able to call up quite a few people to do follow up to mobilize them to join small groups, to come for church service and to encourage them to love Jesus. One brother, as a result of my call, he turned up in the Sunday service and I linked him with a small group leader. Yesterday, I visited a youth and counsel him at his home and I also led one middle aged person with serious stroke at his to Christ. I challenge him (Mandarin speaking) to be baptized. The youth is actually related to our brother Richard Lin.

Today I met with brother Chia Soh Pei and arranged for him to do practical in Tudan Methodist Church. He is our church member who is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Theological College at Singapore. He will graduate next year May.

God bless you all to be His faithful disciples.

Christ’s faithful disciple,

Pastor Law Hui Seng

Dear brothers and sisters of GMC and friends,

I went for a Gawai visit at brother Alfred Sibat’s house at Permyjaya on 2nd June afternoon with my wife and church members. I think there were about 40 of us in the house. There were Ibans, Chinese, Malays and other tribal groups who were present! It was a wonderful time of fellowship among all races. The presence of Muslims, particularly, strikes me. Thank God for their presence.

This year, so far, I have finished one to one pre-marital with 3 couples. I can see that they learnt a lot and they are more prepared to face their marriage. On my side, I see this effort as disciple making. I pray that they will be heading for a strong marriage and their future generations will be blessed!

A Faithful disciple of Jesus,

Pastor Law Hui Seng
