Dear brothers and sisters of GMC and friends out there,

Praise the Lord this week is a very fruitful week.

First and foremost, for the first time in my life I am able to visit an AIDS patient and her 2 very young children. Her husband left her. She is struggling to survive. Her days are numbered. I came to know her and visit her and I arranged for a couple who loves Jesus to be her good Samaritan. I actually prayed to God this year to give me a needy family so that I can do follow up and pray for. Through this case, I was told that lots of people in the long houses and rural areas have caught the disease AIDS. We need to help them. It just challenged me to include this campaign against AIDS during our mission trip to long houses. We will do that the next time.

Also, I visited a mandarin speaking lady group and came to know that 1 person would like to be baptized.

I received the good news that sister Ruth Tan of Grace Methodist Church, KL would like to apply as long term missionary at Ulu Belaga. It is God answered prayer. Once again I truly witnessed a case where a mission trip made such a difference to this lady. A response like this has greatly encouraged me to serve Jesus in the area of missions.

I pray that more brothers and sisters of GMC will reach out to the poor and needy people and help them to know Jesus and become His disciples. Let us pray for at least 10 persons from Miri to sign up for the basic sign language class so that they will use sign language to help the deaf and dumb of Miri to become disciples of Jesus.

God bless.

Dear brothers and sisters of GMC and friends,

This week has been quite an eventful week for me. On Monday I did characters with my family members in the afternoon, then, I flew off to Sibu for the Long House Forum on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was stressful as I had to be careful with I said so that I did not offend and made promises which I could not fulfill especially among the indigenous pastors and lay people. Thank God we have our SCAC president and Bishop to guide us. The most fruitful result was we Chinese and indigenous people were able to sit down to understand one another’s struggle in terms of great shortage of manpower of pastor for SIAC side. On SCAC side, we now understand that we cannot push them and we should not impose our inspiration on them.

On Friday night I visited 3 small groups at brother James Wong’s house where they did Quiz Competition on the book of Matthew. On Saturday morning I prepared sermons messages for SMCGC, GMC for Sunday preaching and BB Christian Education class on Saturday afternoon. On Saturday night, I visited Mui Foon small group. It was a very tiring week but I felt I was empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve Christ.

Just now, after the church service, at 8.30pm, I conducted a one and half hour of pre-marital class. It was on love as the basis of marriage. The couple appreciated it very much. I was very encouraged.

All these while, I just feel that pastors are in great demand but we do not produce enough pastors to do the job. God is calling a lot to respond to Him to be His disciples but not many respond to His calling. I pray that God calls you to be His Disciples as you read my writings.

Dear brothers and sisters and friends of GMC,

Praise the Lord the Tudan Methodist Church, the first BM Methodist Church in Sarawak is near completion. I just her 4 hours ago. Now, we only some parts, a few doors not fixed yet and electricity is not supplied. Rev Chan Jing Mei said that they would move in by the end of April. I pray that when they move in, the church would be packed with the indigenous people nearby the church. It must truly become a community church. Many of them who have bad habits would be transformed to follow Jesus.

I visited 3 small groups last week. I received a feedback from one group that I need to preach to show people how build up a personal relationship with Jesus. I appreciated it very much.

Also, I will be going to Sibu for a long house forum on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please pray that we will find a good solution for the long house need of more full time workers. Pray that we will have very fruitful results in terms of the content for the MOU with Sarawak Iban Annual Conference.

Dear brothers and sisters of GMC and friends,

I thank God I can write to you again. I was so busy in the last few weeks I did not have time to sit down and write a few words like this.

Praise the Lord the visit with Bishop Hwa Yung (1st and 2nd Feb) was very fruitful. I thank God I went. The 4 missionaries under the leadership of sister Ting Sung Ngo had very important things to convey to me. Now, we decide to sponsor 40 litres of petrol every month each mission team goes to Long Singu. We also decide to buy fruits for our missionaries. They kept appealing for a driver. I believe the need is there but we need to pray that a brother and his wife would make sacrifice to go in.

The English churches forum held in Sibu, 26th to 27th Feb was very fruitful. The president, Rev Dr Su in his closing ceremony gave us a vision of an English District and eventually works towards an English Annual Conference. Also, one for the most exciting change is we are coming up with English Lay Preacher’s course. I pray that we will have 5 persons coming forward to do it.

Yesterday we had a zone leaders and and committee meeting. I praise God for the commitment of brother Ngu Hieng King and brother Alex Tiang. They took the trouble to visit the small groups under their care.

Please pray for my family that as we do the character training every Monday, we will be more Christ-like.
